Last night myprosperity was awarded Innovator of the Year in the category of Financial Advice at the annual Fintech Business Awards. Capping off a big week in Sydney with the Accounting Business Expo, we are absolutely thrilled to have taken home this coveted award. I want to thank the hard-working and passionate team at myprosperity, along with our many partners who have supported us along the way. This recognition is great validation of the quality of technology we have built to date, and will no doubt serve as motivation to continue evolving and improving our platform.
We were amongst both big names and fellow innovators last night; the buzz was apparent from the moment we walked into the Sofitel. Amongst the high profile winners were Society One (Lending Innovator), Acorns, who took out Investment Innovator of the Year, and Afterpay, who were recognised in the payments arena and took out the overall Business Excellence award. Also of note were big wins by some of our partners, with NetWealth (Investment Platform innovator), Class Ltd (Accounting innovator) and BGL Corporate Solutions (Software innovator) all taking home an award.

Fintech Start up of the Year went to Link4, a company I had just discovered earlier that day at the Accounting Business Expo, who are growing rapidly on the back of their direct invoicing solution. There were 19 awards up for grabs which demonstrates the investment and momentum that is going into the Fintech industry in Australia.
For myprosperity, I would say that a big contributing factor to our success on the night is our focus on integrations with prominent investment platforms. Over the past 12 months we’ve integrated strategic data feeds from the likes of Mason Stevens, Hub24, NetWealth, and Implemented Portfolios to name a few. This has allowed us to enable broader sets of data to be delivered into the client wealth portal on behalf of advisors.
Just a day earlier at the Accounting Business Expo, I’d spoken to a packed room of attendees about the growing importance of data in helping advisors better understand clients and deliver opportunities to engage and retain them. As we look forward, not only will the pace and breadth of data feeds available on our platform increase, but through open APIs we will provide seamless connections to other innovative cloud solutions and services that will bring huge benefits to the advisors using myprosperity.
The innovation taking place in Australia at the moment is amazing: there is no question in my mind that now is a really exciting time to be involved in Fintech. 2018 is going to be a huge year for us and our partners as we continue to invest in our award winning (I can say that now!) product.
