My last update on myprosperity came to you just ahead of the footy finals and September school holidays, so it’s been a little while since I last brought you up to speed with what’s been happening in our world. As a lifelong (and troubled) Tigers supporter, I was thrilled they did so well in 2017, and I only had to wait 37 years to see it!

Team Update

2017 has also been a big year for myprosperity. The team continues to grow across all facets of the business, with as many as 5 new developers (Shreya, William, Aditya, Huy & Matyas) coming on board in the past 2 months. We’ve also added a new member to our sales team, Paul Lo, as well as Alice Chauvel to head up our marketing efforts. In November we’ll welcome Anthony Pearson to our Partner Success Team, and Jeremy Johnston as our new Brisbane based Partner Enablement Manager. At 31 staff, it feels very much like the business has gone to a whole new level.

450+ Partners

Alongside welcoming new staff, we’d also like to welcome the amazing new partners who have come on board these past few months! In total we now have nearly 450 partners supporting 18,000+ active subscribers on the myprosperity platform. It’s interesting to note the scale of what we are building: we are now tracking $25B in assets and $5B in liabilities from clients using the platform.

Product Update: Tax Wizard, Integrations and APIs

September and October also saw a number of incredibly exciting developments product wise.

  • October 2017 Product SnapshotOur native mobile app has received a substantial makeover to deliver some great eye candy for your clients who want their finances on the go.
  • We updated the tax wizard which was first launched back in February, to make navigation and uploading documents far more intuitive for your clients.
  • The other big focus for us has been building direct integrations with key third party applications. The most notable is with Hub 24 which is going live this month, hot on the heels of Implemented Portfolios and BGL 360 earlier in the quarter.

And there are many more integrations to come. In fact this week saw us announce perhaps one of the biggest milestones in our quest to become a true platform provider: the beta launch of our public APIs.

This is an exciting announcement as we seek to build numerous integrations with leading application providers, in an effort to make the life of our partners and their clients completely seamless when it comes to accessing data from multiple sources. We will have more announcements in the coming weeks and months with regards to leading platforms that we are now in discussions with.

Partners Winning Awards

We weren’t the only busy ones this month, with a handful of our partners receiving recognition and awards for their outstanding achievements and innovative approach to the industry. Among others:

  • Ravi Agarwal (MEDIQ) won AFA Practice of the Year
  • Mia Taylor (Evalesco) won  AFA Rising Star of the Year
  • Debbie Mirisch (Biz Synergy) won Xero Bookkeeper of the Year

A big congratulations to Ravi, Mia and Debbie for their achievements! We are proud to be associated with them as we work together to make positive changes to the wealth industry.

Bookkeeper Program

In addition to our traditional accounting and financial planning partners, it is also pleasing to see our bookkeeper program gain traction. We now have over 400 bookkeepers who have joined the program, with 250 completing certification and ready to onboard clients for our partners.

In October, Accountants Technician magazine wrote a special feature article about the work we were doing to bring bookkeepers into the personal finance industry. They spoke with 2 bookkeepers, Allison Gardiner of BAS Attack Bookkeeping and Karla Hourigan of Infinesse, both of whom spoke about the fabulous opportunity that myprosperity presented them with helping business clients get a handle on their whole of wealth. Not to mention the new services and revenue opportunity that it presented for their own businesses!

Events Galore

As is the case throughout the year you will often see us out on the road at various events, spreading the word about what we are doing and what we are observing in the industry. ATSA 2017 in October was no exception. This was my 6th ATSA for me personally, having been involved previously in my Xero days, and I think one of the main messages was how to deal with the huge choice of technology options that confront advisors today.

This was also the last ATSA event after an 11 year stint. It looks likely to be subsumed by the much larger Accounting Expo event in Sydney in March 2018 which is going into its second year and where myprosperity will have a substantial presence.

We also have the IPA National Congress event on the Gold Coast in late November so if you happen to be attending, make sure you pop by and say hello to the team, including yours truly.

Myprosperity Marketing Hub

Partner Marketing Hub SnapshotFinally, I wanted to share with you some exciting developments to help our partners grow and thrive with myprosperity. We will be launching a new marketing portal which has been developed for our partners as an efficient way of distributing new marketing and video content that will help in promoting myprosperity to your clients.

We are utilising some of the latest innovative technology to help create branded videos for our partners along with guides, checklists, templates and other collateral to help you engage with you clients. We’ll be launching the portal later in November with a string of updated content to follow. You’ll have your own login and will receive notifications when we add new content. This is something that a number of our partners have been asking for and so we are really pleased to be delivering this in time to kickoff 2018.
