They say time flies when you’re having fun and that’s certainly been my experience at myprosperity. My 12 month anniversary snuck up on me last week; it has been an exciting journey to date, with lots of great times and plenty of amazing things planned for the rest of 2018.
I’ve been really thrilled with what the team has achieved so far, and what better way to celebrate than to be in Sydney, with members of the team, as we were named Financial Advice Innovator of the Year at the Fintech Business Awards. As many of you know, we were finalists in 3 categories – Personal Finance, Accounting, and Financial Advice – along with some very strong contenders.
When you are running a software business, these awards are great validation of the hard work that is going into building the product. They’re also an opportunity to reflect on, and celebrate, what we have achieved so far. I could not be happier for our talented and passionate team, and I really want to thank all of our partners who have supported us to date.

I’d also like to encourage you to keep providing us with feedback on how we can continue to improve the myprosperity platform. We aim to build the most amazing platform we can so you and your clients will love using it – and maybe we’ll take home a few more awards along the way.
Product Updates
In a SaaS business product matters more than anything, so feature improvements and increasing the cadence of releases continues to be a huge priority. 2018 is going to be a massive year for us, with a number of breakthrough enhancements planned.
Mobile App Enhancements
Mobile is obviously an increasingly important part of our solution, so a number of improvements have been been rolled out to the app. One such improvement is the ability to view documents uploaded to the portal. Though documents are being brought across as one big batch, we will soon be pulling clients’ folder structures as well to make finding documents on the app a breeze.
Another oft requested feature we’re delighted to announce is the ability to configure the mobile app experience by customising the URLs displayed on the app.
Adviser Portal Enhancements
We recently made significant improvements to the navigation in order to simplify the menu structures and make the whole experience far more intuitive. But that’s just phase one. We now have dedicated pages for Goals and To-Dos where an adviser can view a list of these items across the whole client base and filter the data based on specific criteria.

We are also extremely excited to be launching a brand new dashboard next week that’ll provide a snapshot of how clients are engaging with their wealth portal. From total clients, to value of assets under management, value of liabilities, and number of documents signed, the dashboard will pull valuable aggregate data from multiple sources and present it to advisors in a meaningful way so as to drive insights and prompt action.
This is directionally where we want to go with the platform and an exciting step forward. The new dashboard and upgraded user interface (UI) signal a shift in our UX (user experience) strategy across both the Advisor and Client portals, which I am personally very excited about.
On the Road Again
Aside from product updates, we were also busy on the road at the Accounting Business Expo which was in its second year and well attended. There were over 3000 visitors and around 100 exhibitors at the event – a clear demonstration of the level of innovation that is going into products and services designed to serve the accounting and financial planning industry.
Whilst there, I had the opportunity to speak with Mel Power of The Revolutionary Firm. We chatted about innovation, reviewed how myprosperity works, and discussed how we see the industry change. You can catch the interview on a podcast here.
That discussion followed an earlier podcast interview that was recorded back in February with the Joint Managing Director of NetWealth, Matt Heine, where we also discussed some of the changes happening in financial advice and where the opportunities exist for advisors looking to embrace technology.
I hope you all have a fantastic Easter break and we look forward to sharing more news with you during our next What’s New at myprosperity webinar on April 24th.
