Tell us a bit about yourself.
I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science. I’ve done a few different things since graduating but am now lucky enough to be pursuing my passion: software programing.
I moved to Australia a little over 4 years ago; I was initially going to move to Finland on a student visa but changed my mind at the last minute. One of the best decisions I’ve made! Finland would have been great but I love it here.
When did you join myprosperity? Where were you before?
I joined myprosperity in July 2017. Working here is really awesome: I get to work alongside talented colleagues in a friendly environment with a great work culture. The smart and positive management team keeps us on the right track.
Prior to joining myprosperity, I worked for a software company called Asta Solutions which was an opportunity for me to grow my technical and communication skills.

What would you say is the top trend to watch out for in the tech industry?
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of related computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, where objects, animals or people are provided with unique identifiers. These everyday objects can transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.
I think it could be the industry’s next digital revolution; with instant data access through our personal devices, life will be easier to manage. We actually have quite a few IoT technologies in use today, such as ATM machines, but I expect there will be lot more in the near future.
Any tips or advice you’d like to share?
I’m somewhat pessimistic when it comes to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies – I don’t see them ending well. It’s just my personal opinion, but I have trouble justifying investments in cryptocurrencies because I don’t see them as real assets.
As far as I know, very few banks support cryptocurrencies and their nature makes them very unstable. As a result, they can become worthless at the flip of a dime (which we saw happen recently). I feel that many people are getting drawn into the hype and tempted by the potential of quick, easy money without putting enough work or research into their investments.
What’s a little known fact about Sara?
I started playing the violin a few years ago and made good progress but stopped when I moved here. I was really busy with settling in and adapting to a new culture so ran out of time. I’d really like to start playing it again though, as it was a really awesome and relaxing hobby.
I’m also very interested in self-improvement so I try to spend time self-reflecting and reading up on various strategies to become a better person.
Quick Round:
- Biggest pet peeve? People who are really self-satisfied and have an inflated sense of their own importance.
- Favourite movie? Honestly there are hundreds of movies I love. I am a fan of watching movies. If I have to name a few, Schindler’s List (that soundtrack!) and Shawshank Redemption are two films that really made me think.
- Favourite food? I don’t like sweet foods but I do like grapes. They’re my favourite fruit!
Can you give us a sneak peek of some of the most exciting items on the myprosperity development roadmap for the rest of the year?
A big one on the roadmap at the moment is an upcoming feature to do with wills. Close to 50% of Australians don’t have a will – that’s huge! Myprosperity is designed to be clients’ control center for all their finances and estate planning is a big part of that. We’re hoping this feature will help bring more Australians financial peace of mind.
