Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born in Warsaw, Poland but raised in Melbourne, Australia. During my younger years, I was a sports fanatic, participating in nearly every sport possible! I became Sports Captain in Year 12 and represented Victoria in soccer (almost made it into the Australian Women’s Soccer Team).
At University I did a Bachelor of Business and managed to study a semester in Shanghai, China. Since leaving University, I have travelled the world and developed a love for other languages, cultures, food & red wine. I am now happily married and have a beautiful fur baby. I spend most weekends outdoors hiking, riding my bicycle, lifting weights at the gym and spending quality time with family and friends. I am a strong believer in work/life balance.

During annual leave I’ll either be in another state or another country – I am always looking for the next adventure!
When did you join myprosperity? Where were you before?
I joined myprosperity in July 2016. My career started exactly 10 years ago in IT, which paved the way to my last role as a successful Field Partner Manager at MYOB. During my time at MYOB, I strategically helped over 100 Accounting Practices and their clients transition from desktop to online accounting software.
What would you say is the top trend to watch out for in the accounting and financial planning industries?
Mobile apps! There is no doubt that disruptive technology is transforming the relationship between Accountants/Brokers/Financial Planners and their clients. I think mobile (and in particularly) apps are underrated in the adviser community. Advances in mobile technology are shaking up traditional methods of communication. Clients are engaging more with their smartphones and as a result, expecting more proactive communication from their advisers.
What would you say is the most overrated trend?
Bitcoin. The value of Bitcoin is absolutely overrated!! I’m worried it has the ability to crash the economy. With individuals borrowing money or mortgaging their homes to invest in Bitcoin futures, there is significant risk of a collapse. Unlike most assets and currencies, Bitcoin’s only value is its perceived value. Investing small is understandable, however I have a feeling it is a bubble that may burst. Be careful!
What’s a little known fact about Karolina?
I speak three languages & play piano.
Quick Round:
-
- Biggest pet peeve? Melbourne peak hour traffic
- Favourite spot? Thira, Santorini
- Favourite food? Chicken Schnitzel with mashed potato, roast veggies & a pint of beer
Can you give us a sneak peek of some of the exciting items on the myprosperity roadmap for the rest of the year?
We’ve got so many amazing things in the works. Below are some of my favourites:
Form Fill: collecting data for fact finds will no longer be a pain thanks to our Form Fill feature. Partners can prompt clients to review their myprosperity data so the system can use it to pre-fill a specified form.
Kids App: we’ll be launching a kids app in the next few weeks which will allow kids to view their transactions, create goals and track their success.
Tax Wizard: we’re enhancing our existing tax wizard by simplifying the process for advisers and their clients. Advisers will also be able to prompt all of their users to add/review their financial data for the tax year.
Mobile app: the myprosperity app now comes with a vehicle logbook. It’s still in beta (we launched it this week) but if you’d like to play around with it, download the mp app on iPhone and let us know your thoughts!
