myprosperity and IPA partnership to transform the personal wealth industry

We recently announced that myprosperity has partnered with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) and I’m very excited to be planning a range of joint activities as we seek to bring new opportunities to the personal wealth industry.

To date, this industry has seen very little focus in helping accountants and their personal wealth clients to thrive with technology, so this partnership aims to change all this and cement myprosperity’s reputation as a viable platform in this space.

From my previous involvement with Xero, I’m very familiar with IPA and over the years have been impressed with their commitment to helping their members and the accounting industry as a whole. This agenda is one that has always been passionately led by their CEO Andrew Conway. So, on a personal level I’m delighted to once again be working with him and his team, but this time wearing a completely new hat.

If you’ve read the back story about how I became involved with myprosperity you would know that I was a client myself for over 12 months before even meeting the team behind myprosperity. In fact, I spoke with Andrew about myprosperity in 2016 before I had taken on the role as CEO and it was great that he was so supportive of the product and its potential to help the accounting industry.

In his own words, Andrew commented … “having seen myprosperity in detail, I am convinced that it has the power to transform the client/Public Accountant relationship. The ability to provide real time, bespoke information to clients on their personal financial position will greatly assist informed decisions and a much deeper relationship between public accountants and their clients.”

As a relatively recent addition to the fintech scene in Australia (we’ve been around for over 5 years now), it’s great to have the support from one of the country’s oldest and most respected professional bodies. It helps validate that we’re on the right track, but there is still so much for us to do.

At myprosperity, we want to assist accountants to better service their individual/household clients and capitalise on what I know is a substantial gap in the wealth advice space when it comes to personal finance. I believe this partnership is a great way to achieve this. After all, IPA have over 35,000 members worldwide.  If we can help this army of number crunchers implement technology to be more efficient and provide better advice, we could significantly alter the playing field in the personal wealth industry.

It’s one of the reasons we are travelling the country with our roadshow starting on 29th May through to 16th June – to show how our innovative platform can make accountants and financial planners more efficient. We’ll be highlighting a range of must have features to support wealth advised clients, including live data feeds, tagging tax items, digital document signing, ability to upload documents and receipts and automatically generate advisor leads based on data analytics and machine learning.

We will also be announcing a game-changing program for bookkeepers that will see them participating for the first time in the personal wealth space and playing a critical role in supporting both advisers and their clients.

To hear more, please join me at the roadshow, which will be travelling to 12 destinations across Australia. After the presentation, make sure you come up and say hi.
